By now, most of you are all aware that Epic has just released a new map pack for Gears of War 2 called the “Combustible Map Pack”.
In a move that has gotten a whole bunch of Gears of War fans pretty riled up, Epic decided to release them a mere month or so after the release of the title and for price tag of 800 Microsoft Points.
We managed to get our hands on the maps before “zi German IP block of death” came into effect and have taken a couple of screenshots for anyone interested to see what they look like, especially those who do not have access to the videos.
On the whole, the maps are well balanced and a good load of fun and at the time of writing, still available for download in South Africa. For all of the South Africans that were not given the flashback map codes, it is a bit of a sting to have to consider spending 800 points to increase your library of maps but at least they are available.
There is still no official word on the Flashback Map Pack codes but word has it that a plan may be in place. Although I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Screenshots after the jump.
