Overcooked and What Remains of Edith Finch are May’s PlayStation Plus Games

This month’s Xbox Games with Gold are pretty middling unless you happen to really like digital recreations of Golf, in which case The Golf Club 2019 will keep you entertained. When those were revealed, I said I was losing interest in the free games that are doled out with subscriptions, as they’re starting to lose their lustre.

I have to admit though, that the PlayStation Plus games for the month are actually pretty good. It’s just a pity that I already have both of them. Later this month, PlayStation Plus subscribers will get access to two PS4 games as part of the service: Overcooked and What Remains of Edith Finch.

The first of those games, Overcooked, is a frantic multiplayer party game that sees a team of cooks cook and serve up a range of dishes in increasingly ridiculous settings to increasingly impatient diners. It’s not just an exciting game, but also a great way to test relationships. With its laser focus on teamwork, it can easily devolve into screaming matches. The game has since received a sequel that makes small refinements to its frantic formula, but the original game is still worth playing. Just don’t complain if you end up single or friendless as a result.

The second game is Giant Sparrow’s What Remains of Edith Finch. It’s a narrative-driven adventure game that has players exploring the home of Edith Finch, experiencing a collection of stories about the Finch family and their deaths. It’s one of those games that’s pegged as a walking simulator, but it’s absolutely worth playing.

They’re both really good games that probably won’t be especially well received because they’re not AAA blockbusters.

You played Overcooked before I wouldn’t call that a waste. Great game to play co-op on the couch. Also you play any online games? Cause that’s part of the deal.

That’s the thing, I don’t actually. I play all my online games on my PC. I use my PS4 for Netflix and YouTube.

Last time I checked, my Steam/Ubi/EPIC/Origin account membership fee was free and not needed for online play…

Why you paying the monthly subscription then? And why you not using your PC for Netflix and Youtube as well. Having a PS4 just for streaming is a waste
