We have received a press release from Megarom to let us know that the Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena demo is officially available to download on Xbox Live.

There is a good reason that you have been hearing so much buzz about the upcoming title, and the reason is simply that the first game was so good that a sequel is just getting everyone excited. Even more so, you are getting an entirely overhauled version of the original bundled as well as multiplayer.

Escape from Butcher Bay proved that a great game based on a movie franchise wasn’t just a myth and could be absolutely fantastic when pulled off properly. I really found that it was the original game as a whole that made it so special, so I’m not sure that a demo will truly do it justice.

On a good note, you will be able to test drive the gameplay a little and ogle Vin Diesel in high definition. Assault on Dark Athena releases on Xbox 360, PC and Playstation 3 in late April, so start putting some pennies away.
