Continuing their awesome run of exclusive announcements, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 will be getting not one, but two distinct Kinect-enabled horror games. The first, by Parappa the Rapper (Kick! Punch! It’s all in the mind!) creator Masaya Matsuura is called Haunt is a puzzle game set in a haunted house full of traps, and nasties. It’s an on-rails investigative puzzle experience centred around pointing your flashlight at stuff. I’d have no interest in it if it weren’t for the Parappa connection..because that was just an insanely weird, but brilliant game.
The second is a somewhat more adult affair, Rise of the Nightmares, from SEGA. There’s very little information on the game other than that it’ll be bloody, have torture scenes and be reminiscent of Silent Hill. It may or may not be on rails too. Still, more “core†exclusives for Kinect ain’t a bad thing.
It looks like neither game will be available at launch, releasing rather in 2011.
