Ahh, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. A show that has proven it is possible to do a Xbox One 180 and return from the precipice of ‘meh’ to “totally awesome!”. Following Captain America: The Winter Soldier‘s reveal that Hydra had infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D, the show has gone from strength to strength. (Spoilers to follow if you haven’t seen the show yet).

Season 2 has revealed to us that the big blue alien whose blood saved Coulson (and a certain Skye too), was actually from a race called the Kree, which you may recall as being the same race as Ronan from Guardians of the Galaxy. And now EW has confirm that much like the second Captain America flick, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will have a tie-in to the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Executive Producer of the series Jed Whedon said:

“You should expect something. The Avengers is the big tent that all the franchises play under. Obviously, we’re included in that.”

Now this doesn’t come as huge surprise to me as I always suspected that Agents would go this direction, but to have confirmation makes me giddy! That being said, we are not sure as to how much of an impact and tie-in it will be. Will it be as big a cross-over like Winter Soldier? Probably not going on what executive producer and wife of Jed Whedon Maurissa Tancharoen said:

“I don’t think any movie has the potential to impact us in the way that Captain America 2 did”.

That is a pity, I would love to see more of a cross-over. This week is Agents’ season 2 mid-season finale and some BIG news is about to hit which could change the entire Marvel landscape if the hints turn out to be accurate (Hint: Think Inhumans).
