As an avid iOS device user (read: Apple Fanboy), I have been there and done that on a ton of apps designed to improve or work alongside another service or system but in the end the apps are usually pretty trash, or decent but nothing to write home about.
This is definitely not the case with the new ‘My Xbox Live’ app from Microsoft for the iPhone and iPad. It looks great, has quite a lot of functionality and really feels like a mobile extension of the dashboard and your profile, especially on the iPad.
I’ve posted up some screen-grabs taken from my devices after the jump.
Both apps are completely free and allow you to check your friends lists, view their profiles, check and write messages and even modify your avatar. If there is one thing missing, it would have been the ability to redeem codes and even possibly shop on the marketplace, but maybe that will be possible in future.
Here’s a gallery of some of the different areas and screens accessible in the app. All are iPad except for the last two which are taken off of the iPhone.
