Antoine Fuqua has Gerard Butler targeted for 'Olympus has Fallen'

Hollywood, you never cease to amaze me with your ballsy attitude to release two films with the exact same premise, all in the same year. While Snow White is busy being creeped out by dwarves in Mirror Mirror and Snow White and the huntsman this year, legendary porn-star Linda Lovelace is getting not one, but two biopics based on her deep-throating adventures.

And hot off the news that director Roland Emmerich will be filming Die Hard in the Oval office, in White House Down, comes the news that Antoine “Training Day” Fuqua might be helming a very similar project, with Gerard Butler in the lead role for Olympus has fallen.

The catch here though, is that Olympus has fallen is actually further ahead in development than Emmerichs’ project. Gerard Butler is already a lock for the role of a secret service agent who must defend the president when terrorists invade the west wing, while the film backers, Millennium Entertainment, are attempting to fast-track the project so that it can begin filming in June.

First time writers Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt wrote the script, which Millennium bought back in March already, THR reported. The challenge here, is that Fuqua happens to have a rather busy schedule, with projects such as Hunter Killer, Ocean Beach and Storming Las Vegas already on his plate, in addition to the Suge Knight doccie that he is currently filming.

Still, if the script for Olympus has fallen is good enough, he might just make this his next filming priority.

Something wrong gentlemen? You come here prepared to read the words of a madman, and instead found a lunatic obsessed with comics, Batman and Raul Julia's M Bison performance in the 1994 Street Fighter movie? Fine! Keep your bio! In fact, now might be a good time to pray to it!
