You must go in this first teaser trailer for WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES

Everyone at Themovies knows how much I love the new Planet of the Apes reboot that started back in 2011. I loved the follow up Dawn of the Planet of the Apes even more! So the level of excitement I have for the upcoming War for the Planet of the Apes has me in a straitjacket every few days. And now the first teaser has arrived from 20th Century Fox. Directed by the very talented Matt Reeves and starring Andy Serkiss as Caesar, I think this is one of my most highly anticipated movies of 2017.

So what’s this one about?

Following the events of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Caesar and his ape colony are embroiled in a battle with an army of humans. When the apes suffer heavy losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts as he resolves to avenge his kind. The battle pits Caesar against the humans’ leader, a ruthless Colonel, in an encounter that will determine the fate of their species and Earth’s future.

I’m putting my money on the apes…

Have a watch of this short clip:

Goosebumps much? Damn his voice is awesome. War for the Planet of the Apes will see Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Gabriel Chavarria, and Judy Greer  join some of the best CGI I am sure we are likely to see.

I have been an avid fan of movies ever since I discovered Santa Clause wasn't real, a day marked in my memory by my first viewing of It's a Wonderful Life, which wasn't so wonderful that day. Since then I've watched thousands of movies and even fooled my parents into putting me through uni to get a degree in the subject. I first started writing as a journalist for The South African Newspaper before moving onto communications for an NGO trying to save the planet. Unfortunately my recommendations to the CEO that we should all don rings imbued with the powers of earth, fire, wind, water and HEART went unheard. Now I pretend the end isn't nigh by hiding in movies.
