A sexually transmitted disease can be a very scary thing. That’s especially true when instead of an itchy, burning feeling in your unmentionables, this STD gives you some kind of killer poltergeist who dogs your every step until you’re a paranoid wreck. That’s unfortunately what happens to the character played by Maika Monroe (The Guest) in what is being dubbed as one of the most original and truly frightening horror movies to come along since you found out about Darryn’s sex tape.

It Follows is the twisted brainchild of David Robert Mitchell and as you can see by all the testimonials in this new trailer for the flick, it has been racking up the critical buzz ever since it debuted on the festival circuit late last year. The last trailer was all about setting the tone more than actually showing you anything related to what the movie is actually about. This time around though, we get some good – some lesser men would add “and scary” – footage from the film, that shows that we may be in for some spooky action in 2015.

After a strange sexual encounter, a teenager finds herself haunted by nightmarish visions and the inescapable sense that something is after her.

It follows releases in the UK on February 27, 2015, before getting a wider release on March 27. There’s no local release date set yet.
