First off let me point out that move.me is not a game, but a downloadable application for the PS3 that will allow users to develop applications for the PlayStation Move.

Why should you be excited? Hit the jump and find out!

If you are looking for the most interesting content that has come out of Microsoft Kinect so far you wouldn’t have to look further than the men and women that make up the ever expanding hacker community. From Kinect lightsabers to optical camouflage, the system has been taken to the limits and back.

Sony is taking a different approach and encouraging creative and innovative programmers to legally create applications using the PlayStation Move controller, the PS3 system, the PlayStation Eye, and a PC.

There’s no specific date for the release of the toolset, but Spring 2011 is listed as the release window.

I am happy to see Sony encouraging creativity, but I can’t help wondering how much they are going to hold back or limit the users’ imagination.

Still, exciting stuff.
