Are we still allowed to make Error 37 jokes or has it become inappropriate now since Blizzard really have had enough time to solve it for good and yet it’s still occurring for some people?
Either way to give Blizzard some defence here the latest sales figures for Diablo 3 have been released and it did well, really really well.
According to Blizzards own figures Diablo 3 sold over 3.5 million copies of in its first 24 hours. That’s a new world record for PC sales in the first 24 hours and what’s crazy is that the figure doesn’t even include the 1.2 million World of Warcraft players who received a copy as part of their subscription deal.
But it’s not like Diablo 3 just peaked early, it’s actually carried on selling well and has now sold over 6.3 million units in its first 7 days.
So does breaking worldwide sales records make you feel any better about their failure to perform on the night? Personally I don’t think it does at all as they were the only people around who knew how many copies of Diablo 3 had been shipped and how many virtual orders they had so this wasn’t a surprise to them. They should have been better prepared.
