Modern Warfare 2 PC – No Night Vision Goggles For You

Never mind the night vision goggles because you won’t be getting any sort of special edition at all.

Infinity Ward’s community manager Robert Bowling has confirmed to bigdownload.com that the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 will not be getting a hardened or prestige edition at all. No reason has been given for the move and I am sure that a lot of you PC gamers are going to be sorely disappointed by the news.

With piracy running rampant on the PC, one would think that companies like Activision would want to release special editions as an incentive to buy the game instead of downloading a pirated version from the internet.

So first the higher prices for PC and now this?

I really would like to know what Activision and/or Infinity Ward’s game plan is exactly. They are now going to be charging PC gamers a lot more than they have become accustomed to and have also taken away any form of collectors editions as well.

This is pretty much the biggest invitation to pirate a PC game from a publisher yet and it just makes no sense to me. With the economy being what it is and with PC game sales not looking so hot in the recent years, I feel that this is a really bad move.

They know that the game is gona sell well.
and you’ll need a legit ver to play online
so I don’t think they care for the few that’s going to pirate the game to play the campaign.

Plus, PC gamers tend to be less “loyal” to games. I couldn’t see a large number of PC gamers buying this, or the Halo3 Helmet (assuming it was on PC), or the Bioshock figurine ect ect ect.

    … or am I wrong?

No this is more a open door to the gateway of Treasure Island.

You want to sell stuff? Make it cheap. Simple economics.

How will they grow the legit gaming market by treating people like this?
