Batman: Arkham Asylum Platinum/Classic Edition
Developer:
Rocksteady Studio
Publisher: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
Available: 01 April
Kalahari.net price: R259.16

Are you one of the three people who missed playing through Arkham Asylum back in 2009? If so then you’re in luck because the budget edition of the outstanding Batman game is right on our doorstep.

The timing could not be better as well, what with the release of Arkham City fast approaching. You’ll have until October 2011 to play through the first game and if it’s your first time experiencing Bats in all his glory then, to be honest, we’re a little a jealous. The game is a masterpiece so if you don’t have a copy, pick up one of these budget releases immediately!

Tomb Raider Trilogy
Developer:
Crystal Dynamics
Publisher: Square Enix
Available: 07 April
Kalahari.net price: from R259.16

A PlayStation 3 exclusive, this HD Classics release sees Tomb Raider: Legend, Anniversary and Underworld all crammed onto one Blu-ray disc – that’s a lot of Lara. It’s also perfect timing seeing as the franchise reboot is coming up this year.

Expect a fresh coat of paint and Trophy support. For R260 you’d be hard-pressed to find a better deal in this edition of Top 5 Games of Right Now; you’re getting three full games for next to nothing. All three of these Tomb Raider titles were very good and did a great job of pulling the franchise out of its terrible run.

Portal 2
Developer:
Valve
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Available: 21 April
Kalahari.net price: from R304.16

Squeeeeee! It’s nearly here! Portal 2 is one of this year’s most anticipated titles and it’s a mere three weeks away. Prepare to boggle your mind once again as you tackle all manner of brain-fart enducing puzzles armed only with your portal gun and (hopefully) companion cube.

Portal 2 will also feature multiplayer with both you and your mate taking on the role of robot test-subjects, which we hear provide scientists with a whole six extra seconds of co-operation. The game looks delicious, and I for one cannot wait to teleport a friend into a turret’s line-of-sight. Bless those turrets; they are so adorable.
