Crayon Physics Deluxe Reviewed

By Geoffrey Tim

I have fairly vivid recollections of sitting behind sheets of paper – crayons in hand…lost in a waxy, magical world of my own devise. My ill-developed motor skills ensured that my creations more resembled Picasso’s dog’s vomit than the intended subjects. My imagination though allowed my daffodil-yellow stickman hero save the carnation-pink stickgirl princess from the burnt-sierra monster blob. That …

By Gavin Mannion

Yes lets get it out of the way straight away, the first review released for KIllzone 2 has been released by the Official Playstation Magazine and it has received 5 out of 5 stars. But before everyone ignores it from the get go, the OPM also reviewed Motorstorm and Resistance 2 and didn’t get them such glowing reviews. Apparently the …

Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party Video Review

By Gavin Mannion

The Rayman Rabbid series has always been one of my favourites, the humour in them is right up my alley and I would say that they are some of the very best games that have ever been released on the Wii. The latest iteration does mess with a solid and proven recipe and again it sounds like this is another …

Skate It. Falls flat on it's face.

By Nick De Bruyne

I have to admit that I had really high hopes for Skate It on the Wii. I am a huge fan of EA's Skate. that was released last year for PS3 and Xbox 360 and so I was obviously holding thumbs that the Wii version would give me a good reason to slide out the Wii balance board for the first time in months. I was excited to see that 1UP had posted it's review of the game, so I clicked through to see what they thought. The result was unfortunately not exactly what I was hoping for as they landed up scoring it with a "D" (using the same system that grades were given in school) According to the review, the controls are incredibly poor, often resulting in different tricks being performed even though the reviewer was using the same motion each time with the Wii-mote. The balance board is apparently pretty much useless due to oversensitivity and the game world empty. I was really sad to read through the brief but straightforward review. Maybe if a sequel is produced, the developers will have a better grasp of the hardware and it's abilities. My last hope is that the DS version comes along nicely, if not, I guess I will have to wait for Skate 2's release in the first quarter of next year.

IGN reviews Call of Duty 5

By Gavin Mannion

Call of Duty 5 has already become a polarising game online with many people commenting that it is purely COD4 set in World War 2. While this comment may be justified it doesn’t necessarily mean that COD5 is bad, if it improves on COD4 then it is a worthy successor to COD4. However the biggest unknown that we have had …

007: Quantum of Solace – Reviewed – XBox 360

By Werner

Dum-dirri-dumm-ti-dim-dim, dum-dirri-dum-ti-dim-dim… okay nevermind. That was my rather feeble attempt at re-enacting the Bond theme song. Quite obviously I’m a Bond fan and have watched all (most) of the movies. When it comes to games the Bond franchise has always be below par, but I guess that has become the norm for movie tie-in games. There has been quite a …

Mignight Club: LA – Reviewed – Xbox 360

Of all the game types out there, the most difficult to review is probably racing games. There is after all only so much you can say about the game and one game is much like the other. The game was created by Rockstar, (in)famous creators of the GTA franchise. What they learned over the years whilst making GTA they …
