Need for Speed: Undercover 'Open Road' HD The video gives us a good look at the world the game is set in, hopefully Undercover is the Need for Speed title that makes this franchise worth playing again. In the latest 1upFM podcast the guys from 1UP did liken it more to the Hot Pursuit series which in my opinion is …
The first time that you see gameplay of an upcoming game you can mostly see what the game is going to play like. After all of the cinematic movie trailers we have seen, we finally get to take a look at the actual gameplay for the first time. So then, what do you guys think? Have EA done enough to push the series in the right direction or does it look like they are just falling back onto whatever sold well? I am happy that they have moved away from the Pro Street idea, but I have to admit that this video absolutely reeks of Most Wanted in every way. I guess that now it will all be up to the way that they approach the campaign mode and how it will all play out.
It seems like EA is changing it's tone with the Need for Speed series, which in my opinion is a good choice. They have gone with a very "Hollywood" approach, making this almost seem like the trailer for "Gone in Sixty Seconds Part Two". While the cinematics look really cool and the movie sequences are giving me a hope of a mode similar to NFS Porsche's "factory driver". The gameplay is key and as long as the cars drive well and the campaign is well paced and interesting then I will be happy. Please get this one right EA.
If it was up to me, the Need for Speed franchise would have stopped at Most Wanted. EA don’t live in the same world as we do so they have continued to make more. The newest one will be hitting in November and the cars list has just been released. Last Updated: September 16, 2008
