We’ve seen numerous action-adventure games in 2011, with encouragingly brilliant production standards, gameplay and visuals. We’ve been all over the world, time and space, fighting evil and seeking justice, but in the end, only one game can be the winner in this genre.
Here are the nominees for best action/adventure game:
Assassin’s Creed: Revelations
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception
Skylanders
Batman: Arkham City
And the award goes to:
Winner: Batman Arkham City
Proving that it was possible to recapture the magic and success of the first game, Rocksteady set the bar high for their sequel, and then proceeded to completely eclipse what they had created before in Batman: Arkham Asylum.
A bigger world, a larger threat and more puzzles than you could throw a batarang at, the Dark Knight came out on top to win the award for best action-adventure game of the year.
Runner-up: Uncharted 3
