headerOnce a month, we’ll be looking at the available (or imminently available) games we think should be jostling for your cash. Here are the games you want for September

Remember, you can get these games from exclus1ves.co.za by clicking the links for each game. Exclus1ves is still currently offering free shipping anywhere within SA, making them one of the most affordable ways to get your game on. We’ve just come out of a pretty nasty video game drought, and September marks the beginning of a deluge of great games headed your way.

Gears of War 3
Published By: Microsoft
Platforms: Xbox 360

Gears

The epic Gears of War trilogy comes to a climactic close, as Marcus Fenix and the rest of Delta squad set about ending the Locust incursion for good.

Why do you want this game?

It’s the finest in third-person shooter mayhem. Gears of War 3 now comes with a 4-player co-operative mode, its usual multiplayer modes and a brand new enhanced version of horde. Plus, it now has giant mechs!

FIFA 12
Published By: EA
Platforms: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, PSP, 3DS, PS2

FIFA12

It’s FIFA 12! The latest in EA’s insanely popular football simulator. Sure, it’s an annualised sports title, but this one comes with some pretty new features like “Player Impact Engine,” that’ll make it so that players will have “dramatic falls, suffer true injuries, and maintain momentum to fight through tackles and challenges, and push and pull one another as they fight for the ball.” I wonder if it has a “dive” button for Cristiano Ronaldo fans?

Why do you want this game?

Honestly? I have no idea. Sport and their related  games aren’t my bag – but with millions of people buying these things every year, there has to be something to ‘em, right?

Resistance 3
Published By: Sony
Platforms: PlayStation 3

Resistance

The first Resistance, one of the PlayStation 3’s early heavy hitters wasn’t quite as good as we’d hoped – but it did have some fantastic co-op. Resistance 2 seemed to have gone backwards, losing the weapon wheel and the game’s campaign co-op, opting for 8 player co-op levels instead. Insomniac’s listened to fans, and is bringing Resistance back to its roots, only with incredibly detailed, shiny graphics!

Why do you want this game?

Resistance 3 brings back Fall of Man’s campaign co-op and it’s going to be one hell of a ride! The changes and improvements headed to Resistance 3 make it something special. Also, you need something to play while Xbox owners enjoy Gears of War 3, right?

Jonah Lomu’s Rugby Challenge
Publisher: Tru-Blue
Platforms: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360

RC

Sure, there’s already a new HD rugby game on consoles – today’s release of Rugby World Cup 2011. When you’re done with just the World Cup side of things, you might wish to engage in more seasonal rugby – which is where the admittedly much better looking, more fleshed out Jona Lomu Rugby Challenge comes in

Why do you want this game?

Because you’re a Rugby fanatic and a gamer, and the 4 years since the last console rugby game has been a long, long wait. Well, now you’ve got two!
