A bit of Fry and Laurie are teaming up once more, for The Canterville Ghost

Before Stephen Fry became famous for being smarter than everyone else on television and film, while Hugh Laurie hit it big as a grumpy genius doctor in House, the two were quite well known in the UK for their comedy partnership, in the sketch show A bit of Fry and Laurie.

They went their seperate ways after wrapping up the show, with fans wondering when the dynamic duo would once again team up. Well wonder no more QI and Blackadder fans, as the two are indeed returning, to take on spectres, in Oscar Wilde’s Canterville Ghost.

Classy!

Fry broke the news on his Twitter feed revealing the following:

M’coll Hugh & I will be working together to voice the new animated feature of Oscar Wilde’s The Canterville Ghost.

While The Canterville Ghost is currently finding some financing amidst pre-production work, the film will be handled by Melmoth films, while another duo of British comedy writers Keiron Self and Giles New from That Mitchell and Webb Look, will be handling scripting duties.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Oscar Wilde story, think of it as a classier version of Beetlejuice. Just with more highbrow humour, and less nightmare fuel visuals.
