Ryan Gosling has been a busy man of late. Since the acclaimed Drive, directed by Nicholas Wending Refn, Gosling has been riding a wave of popularity and has also been enjoying a resounding respect for his still-young career and acting ability. It comes as no surprise, really, that he has announced his next career move – a turn in the director’s chair.
He seems to have found the time to pen a film called How To Catch A Monster, a blend of suspense, noir and fantasy and his Drive co-star and fan (and Google) favourite Christina Hendricks is set to take the lead role.
The official synopsis from Comingsoon.net says the following:
Set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city, Billy, a single mother of two, is swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town. Both Billy and Bones must dive deep into the mystery, if their family is to survive.
I think that sounds pretty awesome. With an Academy-award nomination and a films like Drive and Lars and the Real Girl behind his name Gosling is set to take the world by storm on- and off-camera.
Anyway, as if we needed an excuse to be interested in anything starring Christina Hendricks! Add on to that a interesting premise and a directorial debut by one of Hollywood’s golden boys… I’m going to follow this story very closely.
I will neither confirm nor deny whether that just means I am going to google “Christina Hendricks” every second day.

That sounds really interesting. Almost a bit Neil Gaimain-ish. Will definitely be coming my eye on this one.
