Earlier this year, we lost a great actor when James Gandolfini passed away. Most of you know him as Tony Sorpano, but the man had various film and television roles beyond that series. While he may be gone, he still managed to complete some other work before his demise, such as his penultimate performance in the upcoming Enough Said.

It’s kind of weird to see him on the screen, being easily charming and down to Earth. See for yourself after the jump.

A divorced and single parent, Eva (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) spends her days enjoying work as a masseuse but dreading her daughter’s impending departure for college. She meets Albert (James Gandolfini) – a sweet, funny and like-minded man also facing an empty nest. As their romance quickly blossoms, Eva befriends Marianne (Catherine Keener), her new massage client.

Marianne is a beautiful poet who seems “almost perfect” except for one prominent quality: she rags on her ex-husband way too much. Suddenly, Eva finds herself doubting her own relationship with Albert as she learns the truth about Marianne’s Ex.

As I said before, Gandolfini is easily owning the role of Albert, playing a friendly giant who isn’t perfect. It looks pretty solid for the usual rom-com film, with director Nicole Holofcener squeezing out some realistic performances from her actors. Enough Said also stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Catherine Keener, Toni Collette, Ben Falcone and Eve Hewson, and will be rolling out in US cinemas towards September 20.

That trailer actually takes a nice turn! But I’m not sure if I want to watch Julia Louis-Dreyfuss get entangled in a perfectly avoidable situation for most of a movie…

That looks pretty good and a welcome change of pace for Gandolfini. Pity it’s his last
