If you’re the kind of Star Wars fan who has to cry him or herself to sleep every night because of those prequel films, and you haven’t seen the superb Clone Wars animated series, then you’ve missed out on something special. Lasting several seasons, that CGI series expanded on the period between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith far better than George Lucas himself could ever dare to dream about.

Ending on one hell of a cliffhanger since the Disney acquisition of Lucasarts, you’d expect the animated side of Star Wars to be deader than the Jedi at this point. But Star Wars Rebels will be picking up that slack. Here’s the first, very short teaser trailer for that new show.

Yep, that was short indeed. Set between Star Wars Episodes 3 and 4, Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, Rebels chronicles the rise and birth of the Rebel Alliance. The show will reportdley center on a new teenager main character, and it looks like the Jedi aren’t as dead as Darth Sidious and Darth Vader believe them to be.

Rebels kicks off in 2014, with more details expected from this week’s New York Comic Con.

  1. Star Wars is timeless and spans every generation. Yes I agree that the “Prequels” were horrible, but it is part of the saga whether we like it or not. We just have to accept it as the Red headed stepchild it is…

You are what is wrong with this world. Just “accepting” everything. I hate you! As much as I hate Lucas and Jar-Jar! Edit: 🙂

I believe in the power we have over our respective franchises. We can change them (or at the very least alter them enough for it to suck slightly less). We showed Bioware and EA that they should not mess with us and I think it is about time Disney finds out we are not as meek as those bloody Trekkies!

Ok, so what happens when Disney does listen to the fans and remake the prequels, but then they decide to remake the originals to maintain continuity? I would rather have them focus on the stuff they have planned now in regards to origin stories and the sequels.

Original remakes are coming. It is inevitable. And yes they will be horrible. Look at Time Machine,Conan,Clash of the Titans and Total Recall.
