Welcome to The Extras! A daily dose of all the smaller movie related news, clips and just plain cool stuff that you might have missed!

It’s Extras Oscars edition! No, not the Oscar currently trying prove in court that he has a leg to stand on when it comes to his girlfriend’s shooting, I’m talking about 86th Annual Academy Awards, which you may have heard about. And to get things going today, here’s a little something for all of you that never got up at 3am to watch it last night, and don’t feel like watching the repeat in a couple hours, as Sky Movies (via Empire) has put together this pretty decent highlights clip.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is a man of his (mangled English) word, and just like he promised, he will indeed be back. The former Governator spoke about returning to arguably his most famous role in Terminator: Genesis, the first in a new rebooted trilogy, saying that the script is “fantastic” and that shooting will begin soon.

“We start filming in the middle or in the end of April and it will be a four or four-and-a-half month long shoot. We will be filming it in New Orleans with some of it in San Francisco and maybe a little of it in LA but most of it will be done in New Orleans. I’m really looking forward to that because as you know, the last time when they did the Terminator, it was when I was Governor and so I couldn’t be in that movie but now I’m back again and they are very excited about having me in the film… The script is fantastic so I’m really looking forward to this film.”

Liam Neeson has killed a lot of people (and wolves!) over the last few years. A lot. And he’s such a great thespian that he can even make shooting Eastern European slave traders in the face a master class in acting. Don’t believe me? Then just check out Vulture’s gallery on The Many Kill Faces of Liam Neeson.

And here’s your poster of the day, courtesy of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Speaking of guys spandex from WWII… Back in January, German actor Thomas Kretschmann was cast as villain Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. With James Spader playing titular baddie, Ultron, it was believed that Von Strucker would just be the initial villain used in the film’s opening sequence, but according to Kretschmann Marvel has some bigger plans for him.

“I have a multi-picture deal which means I will not only appear in the 2nd part, but they’re planning with me for a longer period of time. But I don’t know details yet, they’re keeping their cards close to their chest – top secret!”

And apparently even German supervillains have some butterflies in their stomach when working with Joss Whedon.

“Oh yes, I was nervous. I was overprepared; then on the set I went up to Joss Whedon, who passes for a genius, and said ‘this is my first day, this is huge, please have patience with me, I’m a bit nervous.’”

In the words of Dr Frank-N-Furter, let’s do the time warp again. Through the power of Photoshop – and too much time on their hands – People Magazine has put together this cool gallery of last night’s Oscar nominees posing with their younger selves.

Yes, that’s right kid, you grow up to be Batman.

And sticking with the Caped Crusader, or at least the next movie he’ll be featuring in, The Wrap caught up with costume designer Michael Wilkinson in the pre-Oscar party, where he spoke about realizing Wonder Woman on screen in the upcoming Batman vs Superman.

“It’s so important to get her right. She really deserves to be presented on-screen in her full glory. So what I do is I look at the history of how the character has been presented on the big-screen, and the small-screen, and in comic books, and graphic novels. We process it all. Then we kind of put that aside and work out what is right for our film, for the cinematic universe that our director Zack Snyder is putting together. We try and create a Wonder Woman that’s relevant for today’s audiences.”

When asked if it would be realistic for Wonder Woman to appear on screen in her classic costume (you know the skimpy high heels and briefs combo), yet still be able to kick butt, Wilkinson was emphatic that it could be done.

“Absolutely! I mean, you just have to look at the gladiators from ancient Rome, they did their thing in little loin clothes and shield….It works for Thor, it works for 300, so let’s see what happens.”

Tony Award winning actress Adele Dazeem brought down the house at the Oscars last night when she gave a standing ovation prompting rendition of “Let it go”, the Oscar winning song from Frozen …What’s that? You don’t know who Adele Dazeem is? Well, that’s actually how John Travolta introduced actress Idina Menzel last night (C’mon Travolta, those names aren’t even close!) in what is clearly a case of [INSERT SOCIAL DISABILITY OF CHOICE HERE]. It was just one of several messed up things that happened at the ceremony – but the only one prompting the creation of a really funny Twitter account – and you can check out most of them in Mashable’s list of the 20 Weirdest Things at the 2014 Oscars.

If you just cannot wait anymore for the Veronica Mars movie, then have no fear, because just like Darryn’s favourite blankie, I got you covered. A new clip, showing off the film’s opening two minutes, has been released to tide over all you Marshmellows until it releases on March 14.

Hold on to your dino eggs, because we got ourselves a villain. According to new reports, Vincent D’Onofrio has been cast as the main villain in director Colin Treverrow’s Jurassic World. D’Onofrio is apparently playing the Chief Financial Officer of the Patel Corporation, “who projects the image of a normal family man to mask a hidden edge.” Life of Pi‘s Irfan Khan has also been cast as Patel, D’Onofrio’s boss and also the billionaire owner of a new Jurassic Park.

Am I the only one disappointed that D’Onofrio will in fact not be playing some kind of evil dinosaur? I’d pay good money to see that movie!

While James wasn’t taken with the new reboot for Robocop, I actually found it to be a pretty solid film – not quite on the level of the classic original, but still one of the better reboots out there. Maybe James would have enjoyed it more if this new Robocop spent less time running around in Chinese rice fields, and more time playing beer pong and Cards Against Humanity?
