Mudbloods

If there’s one thing that I believe in, it’s doing what makes you happy. No matter how silly or goofy it may be to other people, as long as you’re having a blast, that’s what counts. Which explains my weekend which are usually spent putting rubber armour on spandex. And one other group of people that have fun doing what looks downright crazy, are the folks who play Quidditch, for real.

Transforming Harry Potter’s fictional competition into a physically demanding, real-life sport, quidditch has secured its place as one of the fastest growing collegiate club sports today. MUDBLOODS follows the resilient underdogs of the UCLA Quidditch team as they make their way to the Fifth Annual Quidditch World Cup in New York City. Through nail biting victories and losses, the dreamers, creators and athletes who make up this exceptional community come together to make this magical sport into something you could’ve never imagined, until now.

It looks completely crazy when you first see it, but I can’t deny that the people involved in making a Harry Potter sport real are having a good time. And who am I to judge them? Minus the magic, it looks about as physical as any other sport, and it happens to already be an established event. Mudbloods is all about those players who are working to make Quidditch as legitimate as possible.

You can catch their tale in October when the documentary arrives on VOD services.

Reading through the rules and how the game works, I reckon this could be really fun and an actual big thing… but they need to lose the brooms. Honestly. It serves no purpose but being dangerous.
