Confession time: When it comes to the Paranormal Activity movies, I’ve only ever seen about half of the first one. But unlike other people *COUGH*trevor*COUGH* who never made it through the 2007 surprise hit, it wasn’t because I had the heebie jeebies scared out of me. Quite the opposite, in fact, as it’s a very rare horror flick that actually unnerves me (what can I say? I grew up in Elsies River!).

Clearly though, millions of other people did get freaked the hell out – and loved it – as Blumhouse Productions successfully launched a series of sequels/spinoffs from that film. Now eight years and five films later, the franchise is finally coming to a close with Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, and according to producer Jason Blum “All the questions that everyone has asked from the past ‘Paranormal Activity’ films: What does Toby look like? What’s the backstory to the families? These questions have been teased out. Now they will be answered”.

While divulging all its secrets is definitely a good thing, based on this creepy little girl filled first trailer for The Ghost Dimension though, it’s going to be a lot like the first film: I probably won’t find it any scarier than proofreading the first draft on one of Nick’s articles, but I’m pretty sure that plenty of other people will spontaneously have the poop just fly out their bodies in fear. Will you be one of the latter? Well, check the trailer below to find out.

Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension is scheduled for release on October 23, 2015.

  1. I think this would have been way scarier if they didn’t water down the series with all the sequels O_o
