Warner Bros are in negotiations with Seth Grahame-Smith, best selling author/screenwriter of ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’ and ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ to direct their feature film version The Flash (not to be confused with the brilliant, totally unrelated TV series version of The Flash because apparently WB refuse to have cohesion in their DC universe).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Grahame-Smith – who is also currently working on the screenplay for The Lego Batman movie will be working on the screenplay for The Flash movie as well. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, known for their work on The Lego Movie were initially linked to take on the project but have since moved their focus to work on the standalone Han Solo Star Wars movie.
Having already done work on TV directing episodes for a couple of shows, and having already adapted two of his literary works to be directed on screen by other people, this will be Seth Grahame-Smith’s own debut as director for a feature film and what a project to take on for a newcomer.
Cast in the title role is Ezra Miller (We Need to Talk About Kevin, The Perks of Being a Wallflower) who is expected to be introducing us to his version of Barry Allen in next year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice on March 25, 2016 and in Justice League Part One on November 17, 2017 – before donning the scarlet suit in his very own movie.
Having enjoyed great popularity on our small screens recently with the CW series, The Flash promises to give fans of the iconic super hero a lot to look forward to. The Flash is set for release on March 3, 2018.
