INDEPENDENTS-DAY

I make it my mission to try and bring you guys news about the next big movie. But sometimes I have to bring you news about the low budget movie ripping off the next big movie. The folks at The Asylum have almost created a genre of their own with their mockbusters – the movie world’s equivalent of cheap knock-offs – and their latest target is the upcoming Independence Day: Resurgence. Or as they call it: Independents’ Day. No, they have no shame, in case you wondering.

And you can see just how shameless they can be with this first trailer for the upcoming facsimile flick, and it looks every much as cheap and cheesy as you would expect. Check it out below.

Wow. Just wow. And before you ask, yes, people are watching these movies. A lot of people. So much so that The Ayluym never has a shortage of movies. Besides for next Sharknado movie – a franchise they’re also responsible for – Asylum also have Sinister Squad and Ghosthunters coming out this year. 10 Internet points to anybody that guesses their originals.

Well, it can’t be any worse than Falling Skies.
