Anna Kendrick might be one of the busiest women in Hollywood right now, but she’s still got time to attend a wedding she doesn’t really want to go to after being invited by people who were only being polite in this trailer for Table 19. I’m sure that’s going to turn out very well for everyone.

The official plot synopsis is as follows:

Ex-maid of honor Eloise (Anna Kendrick) – having been relieved of her duties after being unceremoniously dumped by the best man via text – decides to hold her head up high and attend her oldest friend’s wedding anyway.

She finds herself seated at the ‘random’ table in the back of the ballroom with a disparate group of strangers, most of whom should have known to just send regrets (but not before sending something nice off the registry).

As everyone’s secrets are revealed, Eloise learns a thing or two from the denizens of Table 19. Friendships – and even a little romance – can happen under the most unlikely circumstances.

And here’s the trailer courtesy of PopSugar:

This looks to be a light, quirky little comedy with a surprisingly good overall cast that isn’t trying too hard to be over-the-top silly – and I like that about it. It also reminds me far too much of a wedding I once attended, and being seated at the same table with its stilted and awkward small-talk – there was even an attractive Australian too… until they spoke! Hah!

What do you think?
