Fist Fight is the upcoming comedy starring Ice Cube and Charlie Day as two high school teachers about to settle their differences the old fashioned way – by trial of combat! I’m guessing Day’s going to have to come up with a cunning plan, because even the air pressure from a Cube near miss will knock him out cold.
The official plot synopsis is as follows:
On the last day of the year, mild-mannered high school English teacher Andy Campbell (Day) is trying his best to keep it together amidst senior pranks, a dysfunctional administration and budget cuts that put jobs on the line.
But things go from bad to worse when he accidentally crosses his much tougher and deeply feared colleague, Ron Strickland (Cube), who challenges Campbell to an old-fashioned throw down after school. News of the fight spreads like wildfire and ends up becoming the very thing this school, and Campbell, needed.
I wasn’t really sold on this after seeing the first trailer, but it’s starting to grow on me like a dodgy high school science experiment. This could be one to sit back with something cold in hand and watch with a group of friends while keeping expectations low.
What do you think?
