Focus Home Interactive and Frogwares have released a teaser for the latest edition to the Sherlock Holmes series. The Crimes & Punishments teaser trailer gives you a glimpse of some of the grim murders to take place in the game to an eerily soothing tune.
Crimes & Punishments will be the first title in the series to be developed on the Epic Unreal Engine 3 rather than the in-house engine and no doubt already displays greatly improved graphics. The teaser shows off some crime scenes, suspects and a troubled Sherlock Holmes.
Unreal Engine 3 will not only improve graphics, says the development studio. According to their post on the official website new investigation techniques have been developed allowing the game to offer 14 game mechanics. This is said to give players the ability to use Sherlock’s unique gifts and talents to their full extent. For example:
“his ability to guess the details of an individual’s life simply by observing them, or to imagine and reconstruct a past event by studying the key features of a crime scene.”
Crimes & Punishments will feature eight investigations and will release on PC, PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360. The release date is yet to be confirmed.

If you haven’t yet picked up The Testament of Sherlock Holmes, then you are in the wrong!! For all us old school players that is probably the closest you will get to the type of game you played when you were a wee lad!! It is probably the first game in 10 years where I got stuck on a puzzle, and even had to google one of them to get it right after two days of non stop thinking!! The puzzles aren’t just jump here, make that go up hang on this thing to open the door, they are proper mind boggling puzzles!! It might not be a genre you like, but this game was pure class in the puzzle stakes!! I truly loved playing it and implore all to at least give it a try!!
O and it has a good story line as well…..

Cool. I looked at it yesterday but passed because I wasn’t sure of it, all the previous ones seem to have hit & miss reviews. Will have another look when the special comes around again.

No problem, you can share it on Facebook. Just mention you found the comment here on Lazygamer.net!! Is that possible?
I can’t remember the exact puzzle, but to be fair there were quite a few that had me stumped at first. All the puzzles in this game was great and thought provoking. I truly loved the game, and I’m exited about the new one coming!!
