I found a press release sitting snuggly in the corner of my inbox this morning with some very interesting details in it.
EA has finally officially announced Tiberium, the upcoming tactical squad based first person shooter set on our desolated earth after the Tiberium wars.
For eleven years, an alien tower has stood dormant, looming like an unholy mountain over a wasteland once known as the Mediterranean Sea. The tower was thought to be a relic of the Third Tiberium War; a devastating war fought for control over Tiberium crystal. It is not a relic. It is not dormant. Deep within the tower, plans are in motion for an alien invasion
The idea of playing Tiberium wars through a first person shooter angle is appealing and is something I will be keeping a beady eye on. With it’s expected release being in September 2008 though there is still a long wait ahead of us.
Some other useless info for a Wednesday… In Fiscal 2007 EA games posted a $3.09 Billion revenue and released 24 titles that broke the million copies barrier.

The blurb sounds pretty interesting, a bit like playing Commander in BF2.
