Hey PS3 Fans! If you had plans of doing some late afternoon PSN shopping I’m afraid you’re going to have to cancel your plans. According to the PlayStation Blog the PSN will be down tonight for a global scheduled maintenance operation, presumably to prepare the service for the new firmware 3.0 that should be coming within the next two weeks.
Downtime is scheduled for 8am Pacific Standard Time today , which by my calculation is roughly 6pm, and should last until about 10pm tonight. If you really need some PSN loving tonight, you can log in to the service before it goes down and you should stay logged in for the duration of the maintenance.
