I was sent a very interesting link today to a site that is discussing the benefits and pitfalls of the NPD and VGChartz sales statistics.
I was actually under the impression that the NPD figures were truly official but it appears that they are not and that the VGChartz figures may be just as good in the long run. Plus they give us a faster indication of changes in the market.
While both are pure guesses they are none the less interesting to keep an eye on, plus VGChartz gives us figures from the rest of the planet as well..
It’s worth a slow read on a slow Friday…

Yeah VGChartz could be called “guesses” but very educated guesses. They actually do a very good job with their figures.

Statistics never lie but it can be bent which you want it to depending on the probability of the output you want 💡
