Nothing has been officially confirmed yet but the grand master of Gran Turismo 5, Kazunori Yamauchi, has responded to a tweet question around the size of the GT5 install with quite a shocking number.
According to Kaz we are going to need 10GB of HDD space if we want a smooth experience with GT5 which is no problem for the new PS3 owners who have between 250GB and 350GB of space available but what about the poor sod who bought a 20GB PS3 to play GT5 at launch.
To be fair though he does say smooth which means you should be able to play it with a smaller install, it would most probably just mean that you are going to experience longer loading times pre-race is all.

So it’s an optional install with 256MB needing to be installed

Luckily, that’s not really a huge issue for PS3 users, since they can just install a cheap laptop harddrive (1TB anyone?). Anyway, I was clearing stuff of my xbox 360 harddrive and if you installed mass effect 2 to your harddrive it actually ate up 12Gb. Luckily my elite came with 120gb, but that’s 10%. I guess if I was still on my 20Gb, I would have cried… :cwy:

Kind of like installing every single Xbox 360 game to your HDD so it can run smoother. Oh wait thats cool. Its only an issue on PS3
I wonder what part of optional install ppl missed.
