For those of you old enough to not know what a Disney Kid is, there’s a big chance that you’ll know of – or be a fan of – the baldest cop of them all, Detective Lieutenant Kojak. Well, while it is still speculation, it seems like Hollywood might save some money on hairdressers as our favourite dome-head Vin seems to be headed for the titular role.
As I mentioned earlier, this is definitely still speculation based on the fact Mr. “Needs a Strepsil” Diesel posted the following on his Facebook feed:
“Kojak… New York… Ang Lee…”
It seems he knows something we don’t, and considering that there are still a few people alive that remember the lollypop-loving Kojak, it seems like Ang Lee is going to be helming said remake of the late 1970’s cop show. The role was originally filled by the scene-chewing TV legend Telly Savalas, and arguably these are big boots to fill. The news over at Comingsoon states that scribes Neal Purvis and Robert “Skyfall” Wade are set to pen the adaptation, which is promising.
For now though, let’s hope it goes down better than Ving Rhames’ attempt a decade back. “Who loves ya, baby?”
