As far as remakes go, Fede Alvarez’s 2013 version of Evil Dead was not bad at all. It reflected a lot of the gore and horror of the original film while still doing a bit of its own thing.
Unfortunately a sequel has not yet appeared, but fans can take solace in a few deleted scenes that surfaced on the Internet. According to Pajiba, the scenes aired in the U.K. and include an extended ending for the movie.
To be honest, I cannot remember the film well enough to see how these fit in where, but they are a nice collection of short clips. Most notable perhaps is the chainsaw scene in the tool shed, which really recalls a similar scene from the original.
The quality isn’t great – these were taken with a phone recording a TV screen – but if anything it makes me want to fire up this bad boy again and watch it all over!
