What a day! Oh what a lovely day! This weekend past saw a movie released that has been nearly two decades in the making. As any unfortunate soul who has waited a relative eternity on the sequel of a popular product can tell you — Oh, wait. They actually can’t tell you anything, because they’re still crying over how terrible Duke Nukem Forever was.

Luckily, that is most definitely not the case with writer/director/mad genius George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road, which was not only 100% worth the wait, but exceeded expectations in nearly every way. At least that’s how I felt about the film, which I happily declared “the blockbuster to beat in 2015”. Even with the murderer’s row of blockbusters on the horizon this year, it’s going to take a very special movie indeed to dethrone this extravaganza of non-stop death defying action, badass characters, incredible performances by Charlize Theron, Tom Hardy and Nicholas Hoult, insanely detailed production design and possibly the greatest vehicular mayhem ever captured on film.

But like I said, that’s how I felt about the film. What about you guys? Do you agree with me – in which case you’re probably still too blown away to talk about it – or do you think it’s actually us that are mad to the max for going gaga over this movie?

  1. I watched it on the Imax Saturday. I thought is was effing insane! I loved it. It simply does not let up with the action. I most definitely will need to go watch it again because I just missed on so much do to the relentless visual assault. I also liked that it stayed grounded in reality. No stupid cgi stunts which defies physics.
