Do you feel the need… the need for speed? Well I’m afraid we don’t have any, but what we do have is… Urge. Former James Bond (and Remington Steele!) Pierce Brosnan headlines this psychedelic thriller in which a group of friends on a weekend getaway end up getting much more than they bargained for as they enter a world of partying and designer drugs.
The official plot synopsis (via Shock Till You Drop, rather apt in this instance) is as follows:
A weekend getaway takes a dangerous turn when a mysterious nightclub owner (Pierce Brosnan) introduces a group of friends to a new designer drug. Stripped of their inhibitions, they start living out their wildest fantasies – but what starts out as a fun night of partying quickly turns deadly, as the island paradise deteriorates into a tropical madhouse.
Well that definitely looks like a wild ride of an acid trip that gets rather out of hand, and Brosnan certainly doesn’t help by looking completely deranged. I don’t know about you but I’m game – so what do you say?
Urge is due for release in the US on 3 June. It’s from first time director Aaron Kaufman, who also wrote the script alongside Guy Busick (Watch Over Me), and stars Pierce Brosnan, Danny Masterson, Ashley Greene, Alexis Knapp, Justin Chatwin and Chris Greere.
