Here’s a blast from the past, for those of you who remember it or happen to be wondering why you pay your TV license for current television content that is 20 years old. Saturday morning were practically ruled by Disney back in the 1990s, who had everything from Aladdin through to Duck Tales running on TV screens.
One of their bigger hits though? Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers, which starred the iconic chipmunk characters that made life hell for Donald Duck in all new mystery-solving adventures. And now the gang is headed to the big screen.
Heat Vision reports that Disney has their eyes set on a big screen debut for the gang of gumshoes, that’ll combine CGI with live action filming. In other words, move over The Smurfs and Alvin, here’s a Saturday morning cartoon that we actually do want to see get that treatment. Robert Rugan, who made his career directing commercials and winning awards in the indie sector, will be scripting the feature which has no director yet.
Starring the two diminutive chipmunks, Chip ‘n Dale were also joined by tech-savvy mouse Gadget, Aussie mouse Monterey Jack and housefly scout Zipper. Wacky hijinks and weekly mysteries were the order of the day as the gang clashed with various foes.

Reaaally hope they don’t ruin it … but … hmm … yeah they probably going to ruin it ! Especially if target modern Disney crowd. Some of what kids get fed today is absolute rubbish!
On another note… saw on Cartoon network that Cow & Chicken, Powerpuff Girls etc. is now marketed as the ‘Old School’ viewing block !!! … what does that make Duck Tales and Chip n Dale ? … Vintage !?
