Back before Wizard Magazine founder Gareb Shamus drove his comic book properties into the ground harder than an out of control nuclear jackhammer, the man had some quality titles coming out of his publishing house, Black Bull comics.
One such title was The New West, a two-issue comic book series written by Jimmy Palmiotti and drawn by Phil Noto, which combined old school gun and sword-slinging with a modern day twist.
And it’s headed to the big screen.
Benderspink, a group made up of Chris Bender,JC Spink and Jake Weiner will produce the film alongside Shamus. Benderspink are also currently working production credits on the magic-comedy Burt Wonderstone, and have also joined forces with Arcana to option more comic book film properties to Hollywood.
