Julie Ann Emery and Jeremy Shamos join Better Call Saul

Saul 1

I have to say that I am very excited about Better Call Saul, the upcoming prequel to Emmy winning Breaking Bad, especially now that the lovely Julie Ann Emery (Hitch) and Jeremy Shamos (Taking Woodstock) are on board. Interestingly Julie Ann Emery has already stared alongside the rather morally suspect Saul (Bob Odenkirk) in the awesome series Fargo.

Emery and Shamos will be playing as Betsy and Craig Kettleman, a duo described as ‘the world’s squarest outlaws’. They can both thank their solid acting for their continued appearance throughout the first season as they were only supposed to appear in episode one but did such a good job they were called back.

Also set to appear in the first season are Rhea Seehorn (Whitney), Michael McKean (who will be a major figure as Saul’s brother), Jonathan Banks (Breaking Bad, the totally badass hit man) and the totally awesome Michael Mando (Orphan Black). If that cast doesn’t have you giddy with anticipation I worry about you!

You can see the intro song for Better Call Saul below, a video that I think is pretty awesome.

Better Call Saul is set for an early 2015 release and is produced by Gilligan and Peter Gould.

PS. Thanks for the shout out Julie Ann Emery!
