It’s safe to say that musical films are here to stay, with recent films such as Mamma Mia, Hairspray and all those horrid High School Musicals proving that there is indeed a market for them.
We’ve seen very few musicals with a rock ‘n roll core to it however, at least until Rock of Ages came along. Starring Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta Jones, Paul Gimatti and a host of other actors, Rock of Ages is set at the peak of that genre, with a small-town love story mixed in with some great tunes from bands such as Foreigner, Def Leppard and Twisted Sister.
And it has a new trailer to explain all this!
Based on the stage show, Rock of Ages is out June 15 this year.
