Looks like Adam McKay may be directing a Marvel movie

2 min read

There’s no shortage of directors in Hollywood, and even when Marvel loses a creative lead in any one of their projects, they’ve always got a replacement that’s a mere phone call away. That’s what happened with Ant Man after Edgar Wright departed due to creative differences, before Peyton Reed was handed the directing gig. At one point, it looked like Adam “Anchorman” McKay was going tot ake over. That didn’t happen. But that doesn’t mean that he won’t be in line to direct a Marvel movie.

That’s according to the salt-pinching chaps at Latino Review, who claim that McKay is in like Flint on a Marvel project. So which film would that be? Marvel has plenty of Phase 3 films on the way. Which include:

  • Captain America: Civil War
  • Doctor Strange
  • Guardians of the Galaxy 2
  • Spider-Man
  • Thor: Ragnarok
  • Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and 2
  • Black Panther
  • Captain Marvel
  • Inhumans

Several of those movies already have directors. The Russo brotehrs are busy on Captain America 3 and allegedly the Avengers 3 Infinity War projects, while Scott Derrickson will handle Doctor Strange and James Gunn will return for Guardians of the Galaxy 2. That leaves Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Thor, Spider-Man and Inhumans.

I’d dig to see McKay on Captain Marvel personally. After all, he knows how to film a fight scene starring a blonde who kicks an unreasonable amount of ass:

What do you think? Any particular film here that you think would benefit from the more humorous directing skills of McKay?

Something wrong gentlemen? You come here prepared to read the words of a madman, and instead found a lunatic obsessed with comics, Batman and Raul Julia's M Bison performance in the 1994 Street Fighter movie? Fine! Keep your bio! In fact, now might be a good time to pray to it!
