The Lone Ranger sets its gun-sights on four more actors

It’s been a tumultuous period of production so far for the big screen reimagining of the Lone Ranger, but it looks like the Gore Verbinksi directed film is finally getting under way.

Arnie Hammer will be shooting silver bullets as the title character, while Johnny Depp will play his sidekick and Native American friend Tonto, with William Fichtner bringing some much needed intesnity as the main villain.

Verbinski has lined up four more actors for the project, signalling a solid start to filming.

Harry Treadaway, Matt O’ Leary, W Earl Brown and Leon Rippy will be slapping on leather chaps and will presumably not whistle Dixie when the gunfights start, as the quartet are a lock to appear in the 2013 scheduled film.

Treadaway and O’Leary will play members of a criminal gang that happens to be lead by Fichtners character, Burt Cavendish, while the roles for Brown and Rippy have yet to be made public.

Other cast members confirmed so far are Ruth Wilson, James Badge Dale, Tom Wilkinson and Barry Pepper. Although I’m still trying to wrap my head over how exactly Jonny Depp is going to portray Tonto…
