EA is hoping to claw the shooter genre back from Activision. That’s going to be no mean feat, considering Modern Warfare 2 performance. The new Medal of honour, with its large fuzzy bearded man ‘o steel is certainly looking good – and one reason for that is that – like a crazy mechanic from Boksburg – EA have shoved 2 engines under the game’s hood.
More is more, right?
Through the undeniable magic of twitter, we’ve learned that the game will be sporting separate engines fro its single and multiplayer portions. “As many of you may have read, we are using a heavily-modified Unreal 3 Engine for Medal of Honor’s single-player campaign,†said the games official twitter account.
The multiplayer though will be running on DICE’s frostbite engine – the same one that powers the modern Battlefield battlefield games. “I guess the cat’s out of the bag. Medal of Honor’s multiplayer will be using the Frostbite engine.â€
An odd decision, sure – but they probably wanted to differentiate the single player aspect of MOH from Battlefield Bad Company 2. That and Frostbite probably isn’t capable of rendering such an awesome beard.

Hmm, the multiplayer could be really epic if they’ve included the destructible terrain that Frostbite supports!
