The Dark Knight was, without doubt, a blockbuster in every sense of the word. Its video game counterpart unfortunately didn’t fare quite as well. The Pandemic Brisbane developed video game adaptation of Chris Nolan’s action masterpiece has been shelved, with the studio itself now defunct.
Thankfully, fans of ol’ pointy ears have something else to look forward to; And holy hole in a donut, does it look good, Batman!
More screens and trailer after the jump!
Batman: Arkham Asylum is based firmly on the comic book source, as opposed to other media adaptations. The game will take place primarily in and around the aforementioned Arkham Asylum, and is said to include RPG elements. Interestingly, It’ll also feature investigations of a CSI-inspired nature. The last Batman game I really enjoyed was Sunsoft’s Batman for the NES, but this looks to usurp that as my favourite outing as the Masked Manhunter.

This game looks like it’s shaping up to be legen…(wait for it)….dary.
Here’s hoping the gameplay & story will match the visual quality.
