This week, Killzone 3 isn’t the only major first-person shooter to release to retail. Epic and People Can Fly’s EA published Bulletstorm also hits store shelves, and will have you kicking, shooting and lassoing bad guys in increasingly creative ways.

Reviews of the game have gone live – and by the looks of it it’s pretty gosh-darned good, with reviewers offering such praise as “Because beneath Bulletstorm‘s potty-mouthed, gore-drenched exterior, People Can Fly and Epic Games have delivered a remarkably sophisticated and original shooter.” and “Bulletstorm is an exceptional shooter brimming with personality and originality.”

Let’s take a look at the game’s critical reception, shall we?

The game is apparently much cleverer than you’d expect, with the demo belying the game’s depth. It’s a good thing that game’s not relying on that Gears 3 beta as its biggest selling point, eh?

Bulletstorm will be available in South Africa for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on Friday 25 February.
