Collectors edition round up: Bullets, iron fists and final editions

Ah, good old collectors editions. They’re not just a great method of combating piracy and giving players a little extra bang for their buck, but also a sign that production on an upcoming game is going smoothly and that the title will be delivered on time.

Publishers are continuing the collectors edition practice for 2012, offering players some substantial goodies for their hard-earned cash, so lets have a look at what will be available.

First out of the gate is Max Payne 3, which features everybody’s favourite grizzled detective and gunfighter in a rather cool pose, as opposed to the tubby, bearded, shaven head images we’ve seen lately. Players buying the collectors edition will get:

  • Max Payne 3 the game
  • 10” tall Collectible Max Payne Statue created in a collaboration between TriForce and Rockstar Games.
  • Series of game-inspired Original Still Life Art Prints that depict some of Max Payne’s inner demons and vices
  • Copper and brass-plated iron, bullet-shaped Bullet Keychain featuring a screw-off back
  • Classic Multiplayer Character Pack of eight playable multiplayer characters for Max Payne 3 Multiplayer, including fan favorites from the original Max Payne and Max Payne 2 like Max Payne from Max Payne 2, Mona Sax and Vladimir Lem

Next up, we have Street Fighter X Tekken, the first crossover ever made between the two iconic fighting franchises, which utilises the visuals and gameplay of the Street Fighter engine. Buyers with iron thumbs and wallets will receive:
