Confirmed: DICE busy with Battlefield 3

If you are one of those gamers that believe that it’s impossible to have too much Battlefield, then you are really going to get a kick out of this.

Currently, we have Battlefield Heroes, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 1943 on the way, but that doesn’t mean that we should forget about the fact that we haven’t seen a true Battlefield sequel in quite a very long time.

More after the jump.

EA confirmed that Battlefield 3 was being worked on, with EA’s John Pleasants saying the following:

I’ve had the luxury of looking at Battlefield 3 over at DICE in Sweden and was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product,”

“Of course, that’s not [coming out] in the fiscal year, but that is a product that is looking very good.”

So we won’t be seeing the game this year, but it is quite possible that we may see it end 2010. We have no extra details, and it is also not yet known if the game will be released on consoles as well as PC, or if they want to keep the original series PC only. Personally I don’t see that happening simply because there is just too much money to also be had by releasing on consoles as well.
