Joystiq has posted up a decent looking multiplayer trailer of the upcoming vertical shooter, Damnation.
The video isn’t great with some obvious clipping, dodgy graphics and pretty average character movements but don’t let that fool you.
The game is way worse than that, according to it’s early reviews that is.
So far on Metacritic there are 4 reviews for the Xbox 360 version of the game
The official UK Xbox Magazine gave it a reasonable 60 with the comment
“Great platforming, shame about the rest”
The X360 Magazine also from the UK gave it 50
“Some genre indecisiveness and more general poor direction combine to make Damnation far worse than it looks. “
Eurogamer burnt it to the ground with a score of 30
“At best, it’s a functional third-person platformer that sometimes acts like a shooter. At worst, it’s an astonishing collection of poor design decisions, half-hearted implementation and mindless narrative clutter that will only lead to buyer’s remorse in all who decide to give it a try. “
And the cherry on the top would be Xbox World 360 Magazine UK (seriously how many dedicated magazines can one market sustain) who gave it a 30
“One of the worst shooters of this generation. The clue really is in the name.”Â
So in other words, if you see this in the shop for R670, run away… run as fast as your little legs can carry you straight to the pub to spend that money on more rewarding forms of entertainment.
That or just pickup a different title, it’s your choice really.
