The new back-to-it’s-roots-yet-completely-brand-new iteration of Driver has been pushed to 2011.

“Why has the game been delayed?”, you ask. Well, do you think it has anything to do with the lead developer possibly leaving his job to become a rock legend? Maybe aliens invaded their town, and are now probing them all as we speak. It could even be that the team have gone full hippy and have moved to a nudist beach in Florida.

The truth is that the game has simply been delayed because Ubisoft think that if they release it during the super competitive “holidays” release window, it will disappear into a black hole of the Halo Reaches and Gran Turismo 5s of this world.

It kinda kills me to know that a game is ready, but not being released simply because they want to sell more at launch, but that’s how it goes in this crazy super-saturated industry lately.
